Donald Trump – Think Big And Kick Ass – Book Review
May 6, 2010 by Renee
So, another book on my Self Improvement Quest.
“Think Big and Kick Ass” by Donald Trump. Have you read it? Let me know what you think about it.
Why Read Donald Trump?
The first book I read from Donald Trump was “Why we want you to be rich”, which he co-wrote with Robert Kiyosaki.
Most of you might know Donald Trump from his TV Show “The Apprentice” and have heard about (or seen) his huge real estate developments.
He is a hugely successful billionaire who is creating his own wealth – which is a great reason to learn from him and about him if you are serious about your self improvement.
Donald Trump – Think Big And Kick Ass
“Think Big And Kick Ass” is a co-operation of Donald Trump and Bill Zanker, the founder of the Learning Annex. Both have shown that thinking Big can bring you Big results – in business and in life.
It concentrates on what it takes in their opinion to be successful. Both authors contribute their perspective and real life examples to the
Do you have it what it takes?
The book outlines the trades and attitudes that it takes in the authors opinions to be really successful. These include:
- dream big
- set a big goal
- take action every day
- never stop learning
- be passionate!
- never take no for an answer
- get even with people who do you wrong
- never stop focusing on your objectives
Each main point has a chapter that describes how Donald Trump and Bill Zanker have lived that point and what influence it had on their lifes and success.
Think Big And Kick Ass – Conclusion
I enjoyed reading this book by Donald Trump very much and it again showed me that being passionate about what you do is one of the most important points to success in life.
I don’t agree with everything (eg I don’t think you have to “crush” your opponent but I agree that if someone does you wrong on purpose you should make clear that this is not the way to go) but it is definitely a great read to learn how a man of the standing and experience of Donald Trump sees life and business.
Have you read “Think Big And Kick Ass” or any other books byDonald Trump? Or seen his TV show? What do you think about him, his ideas or his success?

Hi Renee,
I love Donald Trump but like you, I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says.
For instance, I don’t think you have to get even with people who do you wrong. I do think you have to stand up for what’s right. But, I really think the best revenge is to be happy and successful.
Apart from that though, I love pretty much everything else he says and does. I think he’s an incredible business man and I’d love to meet him one day.
Hi Renee,
Donald Trump certainly has a strong reputation both in the business and non business world. I haven’t read his literature, but I often come across his quotes. Especially:
“I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.”
It makes sense doesn’t it.
Thanks for the review.

Hi Jazz,
I agree – to get even with people for me means you get down on their level. There are better ways in my opinion (like you suggest being happy and successful). But still he is successful, he gives a lot back to the community and I am sure it would be really interesting to meet him

Hi David,
I just started to read some of his books and they are very interesting.
And yes, the quote is a good one – and I think one of his favourites

I like certain aspects of Donald Trump Renee, and the shear grit and determination that he has showed.
He has suffered two major financial problems throughout his business life and has come back from them both. It is kind of worrying that he has the “own the world” type of attitude, which is why he seems to over-spread himself and get into trouble.
One thing is for sure, the title of the book is definitely one to stand up and be noticed.

Hi Renee,
I read a Donald Trump book years ago while I was only just learning about financial freedom. I cannot remember the name of it but it was a real eye opener.
I agree with you that you don’t need to get even but it is always good to stand your ground when someone does you wrong and let them know it goes against your principals.

Hi Renee,
I haven’t yet read any of Donald Trumps books of yet, though his reputation seems to precede him as a ruthless business man.
I’m with you, and don’t necessarily agree with his view of “getting even with people who do you wrong”.
In my view that kind of reputation tends to leave a bad taste in people’s mouth, not to mention the waste in energy, and momentary loss of focus of the job at hand.
But he has the score on the board, and he certainly “walks the talk” with his other points

I’ve been watching The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice but have never read his books. Will keep an eye out for them now, though.
